How College Email Verification Works
How Clstr verifies your college email (.edu / .ac.in), why it matters, what happens if your college isn't listed, and how long verification takes.

Why verification exists
Clstr is a private campus network. Every account is tied to a college, and the only proof of that is your college email address (.edu or .ac.in, plus college-specific domains).
That single check is what makes the whole platform work: you know the person you're messaging actually goes to your college, and nobody can impersonate a senior, a club, or an alumnus.
What happens when you sign up
You sign up with your college email and we send a one-time code to that inbox. Enter the code and your account is verified — usually in under a minute.
If your email domain is already in our college registry, you're linked to your college automatically. If it's new, it goes through a quick automated review before the college gets connected.
If your college email isn't recognized
Some college domains aren't in the registry yet. You can still request verification — we review new domains regularly and will link yours to the right college once it's confirmed.
Your account stays usable while this happens; you just won't be connected to your college community until the domain is approved.
How long it takes
Known domains verify instantly. New domains are typically reviewed within a few days. If it's taking longer, email us at clstr.network@gmail.com with your college name and email domain.
What verification does and doesn't do
Verification confirms you're a student at your college. It doesn't publish your email publicly, it doesn't share your data with your college, and it doesn't let other students see your personal details unless you choose to share them.
