The mutual envy between the two worlds
Hostellers crave the day scholar's home-cooked food with a desperation bordering on poetry. When a day scholar opens their dabba in the canteen to reveal hot parathas or fresh biryani, hostellers descend like friendly locusts.
Conversely, day scholars look at hostellers' freedom—the late-night guitar sessions, the midnight birthday celebrations, the freedom from family check-ins—with profound envy. Each side thinks the other has it better.
Bridging the gap on campus
The best college friendships happen when day scholars and hostellers team up. Day scholars provide hostellers with emergency weekend escapes, home food, and local city knowledge. Hostellers provide day scholars with a hostel room base to crash between classes, take naps, and hang out during fest nights.
